Turning Much Wetter into the Weekend!
Looks like the evening fireworks and festivities will go off without a hitch across South Louisiana and SW Mississippi, but you'll be wanting the umbrella by your side for the coming days. Sparked by a broad easterly wave over the Gulf, we're calling for a 50-50 rain chance for Friday afternoon and rain likely for both Saturday and Sunday. Baton Rouge metro area rain totals are likely to run from 1" to 3" (with locally-higher totals) between now and late Sunday, with even higher totals possible closer to the coast.
