Weather Report - July 2, 2013

Staying Nice on Tuesday

We are enjoying a real weather 'bargain' for the first day of July in south Louisiana! Yes, it's still warm, but temperatures that are several degrees below-normal, combined with humidity levels well below summertime norms have made for a nice start to the month of July! We'll enjoy one more day of pleasant conditions on Tuesday before our typical July 'muggies' return. Tuesday starts out in the mid 60°s around metro Baton Rouge and while highs will reach the upper 80°s, lower than normal humidity should make for a pretty decent day. Gulf moisture will begin to return to the area by Wednesday and will arrive in earnest late this week. We'll go with isolated showers and t-storms on Wednesday and scattered rains (30% - 40%) for the 4th of July. It looks like we're in for a pretty wet weekend, with the potential for some heavy rains beginning on Friday. - Jay Grymes & Steve Caparotta / WAFB Storm Team
