Higher Rain Coverage Next Few Days
Rain coverage will be increasing over the next couple of days. A surge in deep tropical moisture will result in sct’d to numerous showers and t-storms Monday with rain on the likely side Tuesday. Rainfall accumulations of 1-2” will be common place over the two day period with even higher totals on a more local level. Sct’d showers and t-storms will remain in the forecast on Wednesday mainly during the afternoon hours. Temperatures during this time will be below normal. High pressure will build to end the work week keeping things a little drier. Only a 20-30% coverage of t-showers is expected Thursday and Friday. That means high temperatures will climb into the mid 90°s with heat index values closing in on the triple digits. Rain chances will once again increase slightly for the following weekend. Sct’d showers and t-storms will be possible both Saturday and Sunday. - Jeff Morrow / WAFB Storm Team
