Heat and Humidity Crank Up
There won’t be much relief from the heat and humidity over the next several days. Temperatures will continue to slowly increase today and through the weekend. Highs Friday and into the weekend will stay in the mid to upper 80°s. A spotty shower may be possible for areas around and NE of Baton Rouge today, but a building ridge will keep rain away for the weekend. Conditions will remain very muggy allowing for feels like temperatures Saturday and Sunday to reach the 90°s even though air temperatures may fall just short. If you are planning to be outside for extended periods of time be sure to stay well hydrated. Highs may hit the 90° mark by the start of the work week. High pressure will weaken allowing for an increase in clouds and maybe even a few iso’d to sct’d t-showers during the mid week period. - Jeff Morrow / WAFB Storm Team
