LOUISIANA WEATHER - December 8, 2011

SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA:  Today through Sunday will be sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night.  Monday will be mostly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy at night with a slight chance of showers at night.
Temperatures:  Today: 55/33, Friday: 60/34, Saturday: 59/30, Sunday: 56/35, Monday: 62/44
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Another night of light freezing temperatures is expected across south Mississippi, the Florida parishes and portions of the south shore away from the tidal lakes.
 
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA:  Today through Saturday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night.  Sunday will be mostly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy at night.  Monday will be partly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers at night.
Temperatures:  Today: 54/36, Friday: 60/38, Saturday: 53/33, Sunday: 55/39, Monday: 58/45
HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  A light freeze is possible tonight and Saturday generally along and northwest of Jasper to Lafayette line and across the east Texas lakes region into central Louisiana.

 

CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today through Sunday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night.  Monday will be partly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers at night.
Temperatures:  Today: 51/30, Friday: 55/33, Saturday: 51/29, Sunday: 53/34, Monday: 56/39
HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  A light freeze is possible tonight generally along and northwest of Jasper to Lafayette line.

 

NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today through Sunday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night.  Monday will be cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain during the day and cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.
Temperatures:  Today: 53/28, Friday: 55/30, Saturday: 52/28, Sunday: 52/31, Monday: 54/39
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Moisture will be returning during the week as the atmosphere becomes saturated as a surface low pressure develops over west Texas.  A warm front will lift north across the area, followed by a cold front near mid week as the surface low lifts northeast into the plains, and an upper level trough moves in from the southwest sections of the country. The western low will help bring in pacific moisture to combine with the returning gulf moisture. Showers and isolated thunderstorms will increase over the area and continue through late week.
