HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Patchy dense fog will be possible early this morning, primarily across areas west of Interstate 55. There is a threat of areas of dense fog developing after midnight tonight and persisting into Wednesday morning. Areas of dense fog will be possible each night and morning from Wednesday through Friday. The fog is expected to restrict the visibility to one quarter mile or less at times in some locations.
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today will be mostly cloudy with patchy fog after midnight. Wednesday will see patchy fog before 9AM, otherwise mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers. Thursday and Friday will be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms each day. Saturday and Sunday will be cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers each day.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Some patchy dense fog will linger over the area from Interstate 10 Southward to the coast through mid-morning before burning off. Warmer and muggier conditions can then be expected later today with high pressure remaining in control. On the coastal water, small craft should exercise caution beginning this afternoon as winds increase to 15 to 20 knots. Wednesday through Monday will see a gradual warm up to continue through mid-week with low-level flow becoming more southeasterly or southerly off the Gulf. This onshore flow will lead to increasing moisture setting the stage for the return of patchy late night fog late tonight into Wednesday morning. Small rain chances return to the forecast Wednesday afternoon as a frontal boundary approaches the area. The front will sag slowly southward across the area late Thursday and well into Friday before gradually washing out over the coastal waters early in the weekend. Rain chances will linger behind the front as warmer air and moisture aloft override the cooler surface air.

NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today through Wednesday will be mostly cloudy. Wednesday night through Friday will be mostly cloudy with a 50-70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms each day. Saturday and Sunday will be sunny and mostly clear.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of a cold front Wednesday afternoon across north central Texas. These showers and thunderstorms will spread into northwest Louisiana, Wednesday night, and across the remainder of the region Thursday in advance of the front. Severe weather is not expected with these thunderstorms given the limited instability in place, although brief heavy rainfall may accompany some of the stronger storms along the front. The front may stall out Thursday night along the Louisiana coast, and provide the focus for overrunning rainfall along and north of the front Friday into next weekend.
