LOUISIANA WEATHER - November 7, 2011

SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today and Tuesday will be partly sunny during the day with Tuesday evening having a 40 percent chance of scattered showers and continuing on into Wednesday. Thursday and Veterans Day is forecasted to be sunny and clear.
Temperatures: Today: 79/64, Tuesday: 80/66, Wednesday: 76/47, Thursday: 64/39, Friday: 65/40.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  A small craft advisory is in effect for all of the Gulf coastal waters, excluding the sounds and tidal lakes through midday. Strong and persistent easterly winds of around 25 mph across the northeast Gulf have formed a swell train. Seas of 6 to 9 feet are expected due to the combination of the strong winds and high swell.

 

Although the risk of widespread hazardous weather is low, a cold front moving through the outlook area Wednesday may produce a few thunderstorms. Small craft advisory conditions are expected to develop in the wake of the cold front Wednesday night and persist into Thursday night.

 

SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today will have a 20 percent chance of showers during the day then becoming mostly cloudy in the evening. Tuesday has a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms during the day with an increase to 60 percent at night.  Wednesday through Veterans Day is forecasted to be sunny during the day and partly cloudy to clear in the evenings.
Temperatures: Today: 79/68, Tuesday: 77/61, Wednesday: 71/47, Thursday: 65/38, Friday: 64/48.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  No hazardous weather projected.
 
CENTRAL LOUISIANA:  Today has a 20 percent chance of showers during the day becoming mostly cloudy in the evening. Tuesday has a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms during the day with an increase to 70 percent at night.  Wednesday through Veterans Day is forecasted to be sunny during the day and partly cloudy to clear in the evenings.
Temperatures: Today: 81/63, Tuesday: 79/56, Wednesday: 70/43, Thursday: 63/34, Friday: 64/41.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  No hazardous weather projected.
 
NORTHERN LOUISIANA:   Today will be mostly cloudy during the day with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms in the evening.  Tuesday will have a 70-80 percent chance of showers throughout the day. Wednesday through Veterans Day is forecasted to be sunny during the day and partly cloudy to clear in the evenings.
Temperatures: Today: 79/64, Tuesday: 77/50, Wednesday: 65/40, Thursday: 62/33, Friday: 65/43.
 
HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  No hazardous weather projected.
