SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today through Friday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night. Saturday will be mostly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers at night. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and cloudy with a chance of rain and thunderstorms at night.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: A reinforcing surge of cold air will bring the coldest temperatures of the season thus far to portions of the area. Temperatures are forecast to drop into the upper 20’s across areas that are generally along and northeast from New Roads to Hammond to Slidell. A few rural locations may see a couple hours of temperatures near or slightly below 26 degrees.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast to return to the area on Sunday, ahead of an approaching cold front. Severe weather is not anticipated at this time, but the thunderstorm threat will continue to be evaluated over the next few days.
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today will be sunny during the day and clear at night. Thursday and Friday will be sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers during the day and mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers at night. Sunday will be cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers at night.

CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today through Friday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night. Saturday will be partly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers at night. Sunday will be cloudy with a likely chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers at night.

NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today and Thursday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night. Friday will be mostly sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers after noon during the day and cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms at night. Sunday will be cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers at night.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Rainfall is expected across the four state areas this weekend and into early next week, as another cold front and its associated upper level disturbance move across the southern plains. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible, but widespread hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
