The risk of widespread hazardous weather is low. A cold front is expected to move through the area Wednesday morning and may be accompanied by a few strong thunderstorms prior to its passage. At this time, severe thunderstorms do not appear imminent but the potential will continue to be evaluated each day.
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today will be sunny during the day with a southeast wind between 5 to 10 mph and mostly cloudy at night. Saturday will be partly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy at night. Sunday will have a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day increasing to a 20 percent chance of showers at night. Monday will have a 20 percent chance of showers during the day and night. Tuesday will have a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and night.

Sunday has a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and night. Monday has a 20 percent chance of showers during the day and a 20 percent chance of showers at night. Tuesday has a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and night.

NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today will be sunny during the day with a southwest wind between 10 to 20 mph and mostly cloudy at night. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a southwest wind between 10 to 25 mph during the day and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms at night. Sunday has a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms at night. Monday has a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms at night. Tuesday has a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: An upper level storm system will approach the region from the west late Monday night and through the day Tuesday. Moisture and lift will be sufficient with this system to produce thunderstorms, some of which will produce locally heavy downpours. Severe thunderstorm chances are difficult to determine at this time, however, it appears that there will be enough instability and shear for at least strong thunderstorms across the region Monday night into Tuesday.
