SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today through Sunday will be mostly sunny and partly cloudy in the evenings, each day. Sunday evening on into Monday is forecast to have a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms.

Hazardous Weather: Easterly winds will strengthen to around 20 knots tonight and continue on into Friday over portions of the coastal waters. A small craft advisory will be in effect beginning at midnight Friday morning and remain in effect through Saturday for the outer coastal waters, as well as the inner coastal waters near southwest pass. Small craft should exercise caution in these same areas this afternoon and evening. This advisory may need to be expanded with later forecasts to include the remaining inner coastal waters...and possibly extended through at least Monday as wave heights rise to 7 to 10 feet.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorm activity will begin to develop over the area late Friday and continue through the weekend into early next week. Thunderstorm activity will initially be confined to the coastal waters and adjacent coast of Louisiana Friday and Saturday. However, the activity will spread further inland for early next week. The persistent easterly winds over the weekend are likely to cause tide levels to rise to 1 to 2 feet above normal by Sunday or Monday.
