SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today will be sunny with the evening having a 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms and continuing on into Friday. Saturday through Monday are forecasted to be sunny and clear.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Strong northerly winds of 20 to 25 mph and rough seas of up to 8 feet are expected to develop in the wake of a strong cold front Friday night and persist through early Sunday morning. A small craft advisory will be needed for the tidal lakes, sounds and Gulf coastal waters due to these strong winds and rough seas.
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today and Friday has a 30-50 percent chance of thunderstorms clearing up Friday evening with partly cloudy skies. Saturday through Friday are forecasted to be sunny and clear to mostly clear.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: A cold front will cross the area this afternoon into evening, with areas of mainly light rain and a few thunderstorms mainly behind the front. Rainfall amounts of a quarter-inch to half-inch can be expected.
The light rain will gradually come to an end on Friday as the mid-level storm system moves east of the area. Dry weather is then expected through the remainder of the period as high pressure builds over the region. On the coastal waters, small craft advisory conditions are expected to develop behind the front by Friday morning. Strong northerly winds will persist into Saturday before diminishing.
CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today has a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms during the day with an increase to 60 percent in the evening and continuing on into Friday. Saturday through Monday are forecasted to be sunny and clear to mostly clear.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Numerous showers with isolated embedded thunderstorms will begin to develop this morning and spread southeast across the region by this afternoon as an upper level trough approaches from the west. While brief heavy downpours and occasional lightning will be possible, severe weather is not anticipated at this time. Showers will continue into Friday before gradually ending from west to east by Friday afternoon.
