FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
Very high fire danger today:  A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 7PM this evening for Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Lincoln, Union, De Soto, Red River, Bienville, Jackson, Ouachita, Sabine, Natchitoches, Winn, Grant, Caldwell and La Salle Parishes.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly.  A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.
WIND:  Sustained Northwest winds of 25 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH
HUMIDITY: 20 to 25 percent
IMPACTS:  Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  Brisk northwest winds near 15 to 25 MPH, with gusts as high as 35 MPH.  These winds will make for very choppy conditions on area lakes.  In addition, the strong winds and very low humidity values will result in a heightened fire danger threat throughout the day as well.  Winds will diminish quickly this evening with cold high pressure moving into the region from the west.  This will result in overnight low temperatures tonight falling into the mid to upper 30’s.  Patchy frost will be possible area wide late tonight.

A Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7PM this evening.   A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes.  Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
