LOUISIANA WEATHER - August 26, 2011

SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA:  Today through Tuesday will be mostly sunny and hot each day.  
Temperatures: Today: 97/83, Saturday: 95/80, Sunday: 93/80, Monday: 93/80, Tuesday: 91/80
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: A Heat Advisory is in effect today until 7pm this evening.  A very warm and humid air mass will result in heat index values in the 105 to 108 degree range in many areas this afternoon.   A weak cold front will move into the area early Saturday bringing lower humidity values and lower heat index readings Saturday through Wednesday despite continued fairly hot temperatures.  Moisture will return across the area late Wednesday bringing a chance of thunderstorms over the area on Thursday.
   
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today through Tuesday will be sunny and hot each day with mostly clear nights.
Temperatures: Today: 97/75, Saturday: 97/72, Sunday: 96/73, Monday: 95/71, Tuesday: 95/72
HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  No Hazardous Weather to Report  
 
CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today through Tuesday will be mostly clear, sunny and hot each day.  
Temperatures: Today: 101/73, Saturday: 101/69, Sunday: 100/69, Monday: 97/67, Tuesday: 97/69
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: No Hazardous Weather to Report  
 
NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today through Tuesday will be sunny and hot each day.  
Temperatures: Today: 101/72, Saturday: 100/72, Sunday: 100/72, Monday: 98/72, Tuesday: 97/73
HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  A heat advisory is in effect until 9 pm this evening. The potential for heat related illnesses will be present again this afternoon with heat index values expected to range between 105 and 108 degrees for much of the afternoon into the early evening.
