HAZARDOUS WEATHER: A Heat Advisory is in effect today until 7pm with heat index readings to from 105 to 110 degrees through early evening. Isolated mainly afternoon thunderstorms are expected across the outlook area today however storms that do develop are expected to remain below severe limits.
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today through tonight will have partly cloudy skies with a 20-30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Friday through Sunday will be sunny and hot each day with mostly clear nights.

The potential for heat related illnesses will be present again this afternoon with heat index values expected to meet or exceed 105 degrees for much of the afternoon into the early evening. Widely scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening. There is a potential for damaging winds with the stronger storms.
