SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today there is a 30 percent chance for daytime thunderstorms with partly cloudy evening skies. Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny and hot with partly cloudy evening skies. Friday and Saturday there is a 20 percent chance of daytime thunderstorms and partly cloudy skies in the evenings.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Isolated thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon. A few storms may be strong to severe with the main threat being strong and damaging wind gusts. A heat advisory is in effect for all of southeast Louisiana. Throughout the week afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 90's producing heat index values near or slightly above 110 degrees during the peak afternoon hours. Additionally, overnight lows will struggle to drop below 80 degrees. A heat advisory is currently in effect until 7 pm Wednesday, and will likely be extended each day.
Scattered thunderstorms will return to the area Saturday through Monday. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but a few storms could produce frequent lightning, strong gusty winds and brief periods of locally heavy rainfall.

NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today through Saturday is forecast to be mostly sunny and hot with partly cloudy evening skies.
Temperatures: Today: 107/81, Wednesday: 106/80, Thursday: 105/81, Friday: 105/80, Saturday: 102/80.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: An excessive heat warning is in effect for today. Temperatures will range from 102 to 108 degrees, with heat index values reaching into the 110 to 115 degree range. Little if any rain will occur this week as the upper ridge moves back over the four state region. As a result, high temperatures will continue to soar, possibly even reaching into the 106 to 110 degree range for most of the region.
