Tuesday: 93/75.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: A heat advisory is in effect through 7 pm today for all
of southeast Louisiana away from the immediate coast. High temperatures in
the mid 90's will combine with high humidity levels to produce heat index
values of 105 to 107 degrees this afternoon and through the weekend in the
advisory area.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and through
Thursday of next week. A few of the storms may be strong and produce
frequent lightning, gusty winds and heavy downpours of rain.

SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today through Tuesday has a 20 percent chance for
isolated thunderstorms throughout the day, each day with Monday evening

Tuesday: 96/77.

areas but near the coast will range from 108 to 112 degrees this afternoon.
Therefore a heat advisory has been issued for this afternoon from noon to 6
pm. Precautions should be made to delay any strenuous outdoor activities to
before or after these hours. Widely scattered thunderstorms are expected to
develop again this afternoon and evening. A few of these storms could
produce damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

Hot days will continue through next week with heat indices well over 100
degrees across many locations away from the coast. Rain chances will be slim
at best, with shower and storm development expected mainly from mid-day
through early evening. However due to the extreme warmth, severe storms are
possible.

CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today through Tuesday has a 20 percent chance for
thunderstorms throughout the day, each day.
Temperatures: Today: 103/75, Saturday: 103/75, Sunday: 102/75, Monday:
102/75, Tuesday: 100/75.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: With high temperatures in the upper 90's to lower 100's
and afternoon humidity values of 30 to 40 percent, heat index values for all
areas but near the coast will range from 108 to 112 degrees this afternoon.
Therefore a heat advisory has been issued for this afternoon from noon to 6

NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today has a 20 percent slight chance of thunderstorms
throughout the day. Saturday through Tuesday is forecast to be hot and
mostly sunny with partly cloudy evening skies.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Very hot conditions will persist through the afternoon
today with heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees across the entire
four state region. A heat advisory remains in effect today and has been
extended into Saturday. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible this
afternoon across southeast North Louisiana. Some of the stronger storms will
be capable of producing strong and possibly damaging winds, along with brief
heavy rainfall. In addition, fire danger will remain high as humidity's fall
to 15-25 percent, especially across northwest Louisiana with winds locally
gusty at times from the west and northwest atop very dry and hot grounds.
Any thunderstorms that develop will have the potential for producing cloud
to ground lightning, which may ignite new wildfires across the region.

Temperatures will climb in excess of 100 degrees each day on into next week
with only isolated showers and thunderstorms possible at most. Heat index
values will rise near or in excess of 105 degrees each day as well, as the
large upper level ridge of high pressure persists across the southern plains
and lower Mississippi valley.
