SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today and Thursday will be mostly sunny during the day and hot with a 20-30 percent chance for isolated and scattered thunderstorms throughout the days. Friday through Sunday is forecast to be sunny and hot with partly cloudy skies in the evenings.
Temperatures: Today: 93/72, Thursday: 94/70, Friday: 95/72, Saturday: 95/71, Sunday: 96/72.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Scattered thunderstorms are once again expected to develop today. Areas along and north of the Interstate 10/12 corridor will see the highest chances of thunderstorm development. A few thunderstorms will have the potential to produce hail and strong wind gusts. These winds could down small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects like trash cans and lawn furniture. Localized very heavy rainfall is also possible. An ozone action day is in effect for the Baton Rouge area through midnight tonight.
Isolated thunderstorms will be possible on Thursday. These thunderstorms should remain below severe limits, but could produce strong gusty winds and frequent lightning.

Temperatures: Today: 94/73, Thursday: 93/73, Friday: 93/73, Saturday: 95/72, Sunday: 94/75.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Showers and thunderstorms will develop again this afternoon and continue into the evening as a weak easterly wave approaches the region. The stronger storms which develop could produce damaging winds and large hail. High temperatures this afternoon will be in the mid 90s across central Louisiana. Combined with the humidity, apparent temperatures will range from 100 to 103 degrees during peak heating. Individuals are urged to use extra caution when outdoors and drink plenty of fluids. Closer to the coast apparent temperatures will mainly be in the upper 90's and caution is urged in these areas as well.
Elevated fire danger will continue due to very dry ground fuels and low daytime relative humidity values. Burn bans are in effect for the entire state.
Showers and thunderstorms will be widely scattered at best on Thursday afternoon and evening before strengthening high pressure aloft will essentially cut off convective development through the remainder of the period.
