LOUISIANA WEATHER - January 6, 2011

SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today through Saturday will be sunny and mostly clear in the evenings with Saturday evening having a 50 percent chance of scattered showers. Sunday will see a 90 percent chance of showers decreasing to 40 percent in evening. Monday is forecast to be mostly sunny and partly cloudy in the evening.
Temperatures: Today: 60/40, Friday: 65/43, Saturday: 58/46, Sunday: 54/35, Monday: 47/34.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Strong and severe thunderstorms will be possible Sunday as a surface low and cold front moves through the area. Hazardous weather should stay over the southern half of the area Sunday.

SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA:
Today through Saturday will be sunny and mostly clear with Saturday evening having a 50 percent chance of showers. Sunday will see a 70 percent chance of showers decreasing to 30 percent in the evening. Monday is forecast to be mostly sunny and partly cloudy in the evening.
Temperatures: Today: 64/40, Friday: 68/42, Saturday: 64/42, Sunday: 49/34, Monday: 46/32.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Rain chances will return by Saturday night, becoming more widespread on Sunday as a low pressure system travels eastward across the Louisiana coastal waters. The rains will taper off to a drizzle by Sunday evening, with a chance for freezing drizzle across the lakes region and piney hills by early morning Monday. Little or no ice accumulation is expected.

CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today through Saturday will be sunny and mostly clear in the evenings with Saturday evening having a 50 percent chance of showers. Sunday there will be a 70 percent chance of showers and a chance of freezing drizzle in the evening. Monday is forecast to have a chance of drizzle with partly sunny skies during the day and cloudy in the evening.
Temperatures: Today: 62/38, Friday: 63/38, Saturday: 60/39, Sunday: 46/33, Monday: 48/30.
