At 6 feet, the city dock may be under water. Water may cover the lower end of Belleview Front Street in Berwick. Vessel traffic may be affected by stronger river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly enforced by the U. S. Coast Guard.

Between 48 and 51 feet, all river islands along the reach from Red River Landing to Baton Rouge may be inundated. Recreational camps and river bottom farm land will be under water.

The Mississippi River at Natchez, MS is currently at 49.15 feet (minor flood stage). Minor flood stage is from 48 to 51 feet. The river is expected to remain at this level through Friday. Between 48 and 51 feet, water may be covering the roads in the old downtown area of Fort Adams. Roads to Jackson Point may be flooded.

While the 2010 Hurricane Season does not officially begin until 1 June 2010, tropical systems are beginning to develop out in the Atlantic-Caribbean-Gulf of Mexico basin.
NWS reports a non-tropical low pressure system is located at about 25 north and 75 west, or about 600 miles south-southwest of Bermuda. While this system does have the potential to develop into a subtropical depression or storm, it is projected to get to within a couple hundred miles of the Carolina shore then turn east and away from the Atlantic coast by Thursday or Friday. As such, this system is not projected to threaten the Gulf Coast and Louisiana.
