LOUISIANA WEATHER


SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today will be sunny and mostly clear during the evening. Saturday through Saturday evening will be mostly cloudy with a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms likely. Sunday through Tuesday will be mostly sunny each day and mostly clear each evening.

The Sabine River near Deweyville is currently at 24.15 feet (minor flood stage). Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. The river will remain near 24.1 feet. Flood stage is 24.0 feet. At 24.0 feet, minor lowland flooding will occur. Low lying roads in southwestern Beauregard Parish including Robert Clark Road will have water over them.

SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today will be sunny and partly cloudy during the evening. Saturday through Saturday evening will be mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of isolated showers during the day and a 60 percent chance of showers likely with possibly a thunderstorm before 1am. Sunday through Tuesday will be sunny each day and mostly clear each evening.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Saturday through Thursday, a strong area of low pressure and a cold front will push southeast toward Louisiana by late Saturday. Ahead of the front, southeast to south winds will increase and pull moisture from the Gulf of Mexico across the region. Strong thunderstorms capable of producing wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph will be possible across the region by Saturday night. A few severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and small hail may develop. Behind the cold front, winds will veer and become west-northwest as the front continues through the coastal waters and tidal lakes Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Winds will decrease some after sunrise Sunday and winds will relax below advisory criteria by early Monday afternoon as high pressure becomes settled over the
area.

The Pearl River at Bogalusa is currently at 19.00 feet (minor flood stage.) The river is expected to remain near the current stage over the next few days and drop below flood stage by Monday afternoon. Flood stage is 18 feet. The impact between 18.5 to 20 feet, woodlands and crop acreage along the river will be flooded.

CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today will be sunny and mostly clear during the evening. Saturday through Saturday evening will be mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and increasing to an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain during the day and mostly cloudy during the evening. Monday through Tuesday will be mostly sunny each day and mostly clear each evening.

NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today will be mostly sunny and mostly cloudy during the evening. Saturday through Saturday evening will be mostly cloudy with an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms during the day and decreasing to a 70 percent chance of rain mainly before 1am. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain during the day and mostly cloudy during the evening. Monday through Tuesday will be mostly sunny each day and mostly clear each evening. Bodcau Bayou at Bayou Bodcau Lake is currently at 174.43 feet (minor flood stage). Minor flood stage is between 172 and 192 feet. Between 170 to192 feet, expect minor lowland flooding along the lake. Red Chute Bayou below the lake may be at bank full. Some secondary roadways may suffer flooding.
